Hello!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to check out my website! My name is Josh Carlson and I recently graduated the three year program at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. I'm originally from a little town in Michigan where everyone knows everybody. I went to college at Grand Valley State University for a degree in Film and Video, but with an emphasis on Animation. During my time at college I interned at Nickeldeon's online gaming division. That is when I knew I wanted to work on games, but I wanted to work in the creative process. Long story short, a friend told me about Gnomon and I moved out to California to join the three year program because I knew they would be able to provide me with the education and connections neccesary to break into the gaming industry.

I have always been deeply passionate about animation and video games. Disney was what sparked my interest in animation. I always loved watching Disney movies and loved seeing the character come to life through the animation. I would often draw flip books when I was little and eventually I started creating stop-motion animated shorts with my Legos. As for games, I grew up playing classic games such as Mario and Sonic with my brothers and would often be yelled at for playing games for "too long." Little did my parents know that I was actually studying for my future career! I love games with great stories and I am constantly being blown away how far games have come. It's been my dream to contribute to the creation procress of great games and be surrounded by people who love games and animation as much as I do.
